Key points from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s speech at the seventh summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia:

📌 Today the world is undergoing profound geopolitical changes, and new threats and risks are emerging. This situation calls for even closer cooperation and joint decision-making;

📌 Any disputes and disagreements must be resolved only peacefully, through political and diplomatic means, in line with international law and taking into account the interests of all parties;

📌 “We are following the confrontation in the Middle East and the humanitarian situation in Gaza with great concern. We support the swift establishment of peace and stability in this region”;

📌 The main goal of CICA should be to build a comprehensive infrastructure of cooperation in Asia and a stable system of relations based on coherent, predictable actions and the fulfilment of commitments;

📌 It was proposed to develop a concept for building an infrastructure of trust in Asia, setting out the main directions for the Conference’s long-term development and concrete measures to expand interconnectedness and cooperation between states;

📌 An Asian initiative on technological trust and the responsible use of artificial intelligence was put forward;

📌 An initiative on partnership in climate resilience was proposed. It will make it possible to jointly introduce water-saving technologies, develop “green” energy and continuously monitor the state of the environment;

📌 As the Conference’s coordinator for the human dimension, Uzbekistan is paying great attention to developing ties in education, culture and humanitarian fields, and is ready to host a forum on human capital development next year;

📌 Uzbekistan supports efforts to further strengthen CICA’s institutional foundations and improve its charter. It is important that the initiatives put forward are implemented in practice.
